Astra Theater und Luna

In the middle of the city centre, only a few minutes' walk from the main railway station, the Astra Theatre with its small "Luna" auditorium is probably the most centrally located of Essen's cinemas. First and foremost, Astra & Luna are first-run cinemas. However, numerous special programmes such as previews, original versions and special film series are also shown.
The large hall as well as the foyer have been preserved in their original 1950s style. Accordingly, in addition to the selected programme, they offer a wonderful ambience for the somewhat different cinema experience. It is also possible to book the cinema for a private event, even beyond a cinema performance, for example for lectures, receptions or workshops.
